Nimea Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 9, 2026 · Last updated: May 9, 2026
This policy explains what Nimea ("we", "the app") collects, how it's used, where it's stored, and your rights. We try to keep this short, plain, and accurate. If anything changes, we'll bump the date above.
1. What we collect
Account data
- Email address: required to create an account and recover access
- Name: optional, shown on your profile
Habit data
- The habits you create (name, icon, color, frequency, optional reminder time)
- Your completion logs (dates, optional notes)
- Streaks, XP, level, badges
- Optional: a "tiny version" of your habit, an anchor habit for stacking, location-based reminder coordinates
Journal data
- Daily journal entries (text content + optional mood score 1 to 5)
- Mood logs
Subscription data
- Whether you have an active premium subscription (received from Apple via RevenueCat)
- We never receive your payment details. Apple handles billing
Device data
- Operating system version (for crash diagnostics)
- App version
- Anonymous device identifier (for receipt validation only)
Location data (only if you opt in)
- If you enable location-based reminders, your device monitors specific lat/lng coordinates you chose (e.g. your gym address)
- This monitoring happens entirely on your device using iOS geofencing
- We never receive your continuous location, your movement history, or any reverse-geocoded address
2. What we do NOT collect
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever
- We do not use your data to train AI models you didn't opt into
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- We do not show ads
- We do not track which buttons you tap, except for crash analytics
3. How your data is used
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account email | Sign in, send password resets, support replies |
| Habits + logs | Show you your own data, compute streaks, generate insights |
| Journal entries | Show your own data; optional AI follow-up question (see §4) |
| Mood logs | Compute habit-mood correlations for your private insights |
| Subscription status | Unlock premium features for paying users |
| Crash logs | Find and fix bugs |
4. AI features (Anthropic Claude)
Some Nimea features use Anthropic's Claude API:
- AI habit suggestions: when you search the habit library, we send your search query to Anthropic
- AI journal follow-up: when you write a journal entry of 20+ characters, we send the entry text to Anthropic to generate a single follow-up question
- AI weekly feedback: your habit names + streak numbers go to Anthropic to generate a coaching message
- AI habit autopsy: when a habit has 3+ consecutive misses, we send the habit name and miss count
Anthropic processes these requests under their privacy policy. Anthropic does NOT use API requests to train their models.
If you'd rather not use AI features, simply don't search the library, don't write journal entries, etc. The core app works without them.
5. Where your data lives
- Supabase (PostgreSQL): primary database, hosted in the EU/US (Amazon Web Services)
- Apple iCloud / RevenueCat: your subscription receipt and entitlement state
- Anthropic Claude API: only when you trigger an AI feature; not stored long-term by Anthropic per their policy
- Your device: local copy of your active session and a small encrypted token
We use industry-standard TLS for all data in transit and AES at rest in the database.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Export all your data: email us at support@nimea.app and we'll send a JSON export within 7 days
- Delete your account: Profile, then Delete Account, inside the app. This permanently removes everything within 30 days
- Correct any data: edit habits, journal entries, etc. directly in-app
- Cancel premium: manage in your iOS Settings, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions
For users in California, EU, UK, and other jurisdictions with extended privacy rights (CCPA, GDPR, UK-GDPR), you also have the right to request a copy of all personal data, object to processing, request restriction, or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Children
Nimea is rated 4+ but is not designed for or targeted at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date and notify you in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
9. Contact
Privacy questions, data export requests, deletion requests, or anything else:

This policy is plain English by design. If anything is unclear, that's a bug. Email us and we'll fix it.
